Description
Give your 2nd graders engaging math practice with these hands-on 2nd Grade Math Centers. The set focuses on place value, addition, and subtraction, so students build confidence and strong number sense. Teachers use them successfully for daily rotations, morning work, early finishers, sub plans, and targeted intervention.
The five activities keep students actively involved. First, learners create 2-digit numbers and add using a spinner in Activity 1 (no regrouping). Next, Activity 2 advances to addition with and without regrouping. In Activity 3, students roll dice, build a number cross, and explore patterns plus multiple number forms. Activity 4 introduces 3-digit addition and subtraction within 100–199. Finally, Activity 5 helps students master place value to 999 through a clear graphic organizer.
Because the centers include everything you need, setup stays quick. Simply print the pages, cut the number cards and spinners, and gather dice plus base ten blocks. Students record their thinking on ready-made sheets or in math journals, which makes assessment easy and meaningful.
Students stay motivated because they build, model, spin, write equations, and explain their work. The activities also differentiate naturally, so independent workers, partners, and small groups all succeed. Clear teacher tips and student directions help everything run smoothly from the very first day.
These centers work wonderfully for end-of-year review or summer preparation. Watch your students gain confidence while mastering key 2nd grade standards in a fun, hands-on way!
