Description
This Christmas Long and Short Vowel Sorting Phonics Center is an engaging way for 1st and 2nd graders to practice distinguishing between long and short vowel sounds. Students will look at the gift cards, say the word, and sort the gifts into the carts based on whether the vowel sound is long or short, adding a festive twist to phonics practice.
After sorting, students will complete the recording sheets by coloring the pictures according to the code and writing the words next to the matching pictures. This holiday-themed phonics activity is easy to set up and perfect for literacy centers, small groups, or independent practice. Add some Christmas cheer to your lessons while reinforcing essential vowel sound recognition skills!
