Description
This Christmas Open and Closed Syllables Sorting Center Activity is a hands-on way for 1st and 2nd graders to practice identifying open and closed syllables. Students will look at the underlined syllable on each cookie card and decide if it’s open or closed. Then, they’ll feed the cookies to the correct elves, making learning interactive and fun!
After sorting, students will complete the recording sheet by writing the words, underlining the syllables, and coloring a cookie to show if the syllable is open or closed. This printable phonics activity is easy to set up and perfect for literacy centers, small groups, or independent practice. It’s a great addition to your holiday-themed learning activities!
