Description
Bring excitement to long vowel practice with the Winter Long Vowels Connect 4 Phonics Center! This interactive activity allows 1st and 2nd graders to strengthen their understanding of long vowel sounds while enjoying a fun game of Connect 4.
Here’s how it works:
- Roll the die and find a picture on the Connect 4 board with a matching long vowel sound.
- Cross it out with a dry erase marker or cover it with a bingo chip.
- Keep rolling and covering pictures until you connect four! Students can play individually or with a partner for added fun.
After playing, students will complete the recording sheet by writing the words under the pictures and underlining the long vowel sound in each word. This engaging activity is perfect for literacy centers, small groups, or independent practice. Make phonics learning a hit this winter with this hands-on, competitive activity!
