Description
These Hanukkah headbands color by number activities make the perfect holiday math craft for your kindergarten and first grade students! Each headband features fun Hanukkah images — a dreidel, menorah, Star of David, Torah, sufganiyot, and more — that students color using addition and subtraction facts to 10. Once colored, students cut out their headband and glue it to a sentence strip to wear. Your class will love showing off their work!
This resource includes six different headband designs, so every student can create something unique. Each design comes with a student-facing color key that maps math answers to specific colors. Students solve each problem, find the matching color, and bring the picture to life. It is also a great way to build fact fluency in a low-stress, high-engagement format.
Best of all, this activity is completely no prep. Just print on cardstock, hand out the sheets, and let students get to work. It works perfectly as a holiday center, early finisher activity, or whole-class art project during the December holiday season. You can also use it as a bulletin board display — the finished headbands look amazing hung around the classroom.
Also included are two bonus stamp pages with Hanukkah clip art images. Students color and cut out the stamps to add extra decoration to their sentence strip headband. Full answer keys are included for all six designs, so checking student work is quick and easy.
For best results, copy each page on cardstock so the headband holds its shape. Each student also needs one sentence strip, which gets stapled to fit their head. This Hanukkah headbands color by number activity is a holiday favorite your students will be excited to wear home!
