Description
This Syllable Sort Center is a fun way for 1st and 2nd graders to practice counting syllables in words. Students will look at each picture or read the word on the hay bales and sort them by the number of syllables. Perfect for centers, small groups, or independent practice, this activity helps build phonological awareness with an engaging farm-themed twist.
After sorting, students will complete the recording sheet by coloring the hay bales to show the syllable count for each word. This printable phonics activity is easy to set up, making learning syllable counting interactive and enjoyable. It’s a great addition to any classroom focused on phonics skills!
