More About This Resource
I have used these in my own classroom and they are huge hit! They have been formatted them to fit in the photo containers or pencil pouch holders. You can also simply put in baggies, or print the name and directions of the game on label paper and stick them on front of the baggie.
This is also printer-friendly. No colored ink is used. To dress it up I have used AstroBrights colored paper.
This game can be played with 2 to 4 players.
Directions:
1. Deal out all of the cards face down to players. Place them in a stack.
2. Each player turns over their top card.
3. The player with the largest answer (or number) wins and keeps those cards.
4. If the player turns over cards that are equivalent, then it’s WAR time. Those players turn over their next card. The player who has the highest answer gets ALL of the cards.
5. The person with the most cards at the end is the winner.
You can change it up to the greater value or the lesser value. Just determine the rule before the start of the game.
*NOTE: I have included answers for each problem (where applicable). These are good to mix in the war game. You can also put these at a center and do a matching game or play as a concentration game.
See what others are saying…
“Easy prep and once you teach them how to play one game the rest are similar so it doesn’t take up too much time to model each game! So great with the standards and provide a fun activity to do during guided math when they’re done with independent work!” – Alexandra O.
“My students love these cards! It was nice to teach them one game and they be able to use with different decks! Good for different types of practice with different visuals, models!” – Hey Teacher Hey
“My students loved using these in our math centers. They love the interaction between each other. Hopefully we will get back to use them again.” – Mary L.
“This is one of the best things I have purchased! I have used this in whole group, small group, and centers. There are so many different games, and the students really have a lot of fun with each and every one of them! Thank you for such an amazing resource!” – Jessica A.
“I used these to play SCOOT and Write the Room.. THEY WERE GREAT! My kids loved them and I love that they can easily be used for War, Scoot, or Write the Room.. No extra prep!” – Matthew N.
