Groundhog Day
Groundhog Day comes around every February 2nd. It started with a Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if the groundhog came out of its burrow and saw its shadow then there are at least 6 more weeks of winter. So now, each year the world watches to see when Spring will arrive. There are so many fun ways to weave learning into this deep tradition. And the Groundhog Day Fun Packet covers all of the excitement.
Will He See His Shadow?
Your students will have a blast coloring the pages and learning about the Groundhog’s shadow. They will complete mystery pictures of two different groundhogs. They will make bookmarks that can be used during quiet reading time. All of these are included for you in the Groundhog Day Fun Packet.
Twenty-Four Pages
There are 24 pages in the Groundhog Day Fun Packet. Everything from addition to subtraction to ABC Order is included. There are plenty of pages to keep your students busy for extended periods of time. They can complete mazes, finish a dot to dot and make a groundhog paper bag puppet.
The Perfect Resource
The Groundhog Day Fun Packet is great for many uses in the classroom. I like to use them for the early finishers folder. I keep it in the back of the room and when students feel like they are completely finished with work they can go and choose something out of the folder. I have also used it for an extra center during the month of February. And there have been a few times where it has become morning work when I need something easy and quick. You can’t go wrong.
